Each year, Anatolian Artisans curates a one-of-a-kind tour exploring the rich history and cuisine of Türkiye (Turkey). This year, we are delighted to invite you on an expertly tailored cultural and culinary journey through southeastern Türkiye—to explore the historic heart of Mesopotamia, the cradle of civilization, shaped by the life-giving Euphrates and Tigris rivers, a region where civilizations were born, faiths converged and flavors evolved over millennia.
Our journey begins in İstanbul, the city where two continents meet. This magnificent metropolis takes you on a voyage through time, with its deep-rooted history stretching from Byzantium, Constantinople and the Ottoman Empire. Later, this immersive tour takes us to Mardin, with its honey-colored stone architecture and timeless coexistence of cultures; Şanlıurfa, the legendary City of Prophets, rich in music, ritual and tradition; Göbeklitepe, the world’s oldest known monumental sanctuary that reshapes our understanding of human history; and Gaziantep, a UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy celebrated for one of the most sophisticated and storied cuisines on earth. Along the way, we will explore ancient sites, living traditions, vibrant bazaars and historic neighborhoods, guided by an expert who brings the region’s stories to life. Equally central to our journey is the cuisine, thoughtfully curated by our culinary advisor: from home-style regional dishes to iconic classics such as kebabs, mezes and pistachio-laden desserts, each meal reflects centuries of cultural exchange and craftsmanship.
